Helping Hungry Kids
Children often rely on school breakfasts and lunches to get enough to eat during the week—which means they often go hungry on weekends. At the Community Food Bank, we partner with schools and organizations in Tucson and surrounding communities to provide low-income students with backpacks full of healthy, child-friendly meals and snacks for the weekend.
Our thanks to Fiesta Bowl Charities for a $10,000 grant to
help fund the Childhood Nutrition Program. Their donation gets healthy food to
children by making school pantries available, providing meals after school, and
supplying backpacks of food for children to take home.
