COVID-19 Update:
We need help from companies, church groups, clubs, and other community organizations to distribute food to our neighbors. Can you bring YOUR team?
Groups with members 16 and older are needed Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Volunteers should be healthy, able to work in the heat, and able to lift and stand for several hours. Email volunteer@communityfoodbank.org to learn more.

Help us greet and check in clients, guide clients through their shopping experience at the Food Bank, load grocery carts, and distribute food to community members in need.
At Green Valley and Amado, we use a "client choice" model. There, in addition to the check in and welcoming process, you can help guide clients through the center.
Packing and sorting food are core functions of the Food Bank. Help us sort donated food in our warehouse and pack emergency food boxes that are distributed to community members. Great for individuals and groups!
You can help out at our Nuestra Tierra Learning Garden or Las Milpitas Community Farm by starting seedlings, transplanting plants, harvesting worm castings, making compost, saving and packing seeds, and other garden maintenance work.
Volunteers help harvest citrus fruit from January to March, and pick pumpkins in November. All produce gleaned is redistributed to community members in need.
Volunteers help with sweeping, mopping, removing trash, general maintenance work, and keeping our facilities clean and operational.
Help out in our offices with filing, computer work, phone calls, writing thank you notes, and other general office work.
We can always use help at special events that benefit the CFB. Recurring events include the Winterhaven Festival of Lights in December, the Mail Carriers Food Drive in May, and our annual HungerWalk in September.
