50 Years of Impact: Celebrating Our Farmers’ Market, Where Fresh, Local Food and Community Come Together

Tags: , , ,

A Market with a Mission

At the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, we believe that access to fresh, healthy food should be a reality for everyone. Every week, our Farmers’ Market brings that vision to life, creating a space where local food, community connection, and economic opportunity come together.

More than just a place to shop, our Farmers’ Market is a reflection of what makes Southern Arizona special.  It is a community that values local agriculture, supports small businesses, and understands that food is a powerful tool for building healthier neighborhoods.

Healthy Choices, Local Impact

The Farmers’ Market is also an important part of our commitment to food access. Fresh fruits, vegetables, locally produced foods, and healthy options are available in a welcoming environment that encourages everyone to make nutritious choices for themselves and their families.

By helping neighbors access fresh foods while supporting local producers, the market creates a win-win solution that strengthens both individual health and community well-being.  Neighbors can bring their SNAP or their Arizona Farmers Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) benefits to spend on fruits and vegetables.

More than a Market

One of the most rewarding aspects of the Farmers’ Market is seeing people come together. Families, neighbors, volunteers, vendors, and visitors gather to share stories, discover new foods, and celebrate the diversity that makes the market unique.

Together, we are helping create a food system rooted in dignity, sustainability, and opportunity. By supporting local agriculture, improving access to healthy food, and investing in community well-being, we are working toward a future where everyone has the resources they need to thrive.
